What are the target membership requirements for what y'all are considering?

Being good, and actually contributing, is more important than being active.

How do you contribute if you are not active?

Re: Membership Requirements?
I guess I feel like losing someone like Affliksh0n over something stupid like him going into law school is just not acceptable to me. The guy was a great member. Real life happens, and if you have to take a leave, have at it, in my opinion. What's the harm? If our screening process is successful, we won't have to worry about shitty players in the guild. If that's the case, we don't have to sweep someone away so long as they're still checking up, of course they're not 'core' or such anymore, but home is home.
Also, I would like to say, I think we've all come to the conclusion that this isn't a Exodus reform. Obviously some things are going to mirror the guidelines of Exodus, we liked that home for a reason, but we left to get away from problems, don't think they should be here.

Agree. You can be a productive/contributing member when you are on, but can be inactive at times (RL happens). But it is unacceptable to leach off of the accomplishments of the group, even if your activity is higher than others. By this i mean being carried through raids and never helping with progression, or participating in PVP/RVR only when we are winning but leaving if you get frustrated over a loss and not talking about how to fix the problem.

Agreed. If someone is missed and we want around. Let them know. they are always welcomed back. If they come back on a dime during the "pass around the lootz" then of course its not cool to say to the more active guy(s) who don't get some of the lootz/raiding opportunities/gear, but the member who we all love is now back and give him stuff and opportunity?
Seems a little high school don't you think?

Obviously being a good player is first and foremost. But respect for guild members and others is huge too.

Re: Membership Requirements?
Here's my thoughts-- take them for whatever you think they're worth.
1.) any requirement needs to be tailored toward having as many "good" players in the game as we can get. For example, out of game activity (TS, forums) is a nice extra, but in-game activity and capability is really what counts.
2.) good attitude + competency > all other traits.
3.) group-focused members only. Scoreboard heroes, loot whores, etc need not apply.
4.) anything competitive means maximum effort. non-competitive stuff means have as much fun as possible.
By way of example for #4, I feel like if there's a progression-based raid, or a rated pvp event, anyone who participates with our guild tag on should have spent every effort to be spec'd and geared appropriately, have knowledge of the strats involved, etc. There shouldn't be a sense of entitlement because you have the guild tag.
my $0.02 ($0.013 after taxes).

This is the big one for me. We are all competent players who know our stuff. We all have a firm grasp of MMO play, PVP and excellent gaming. We need to avoid adding players that do not fit this mold.

Valgar, great guy, enjoy hanging out with him. Problem is multi fold. We are here to establish a certain line of performance, efficiency, and team play.
PVE - does fine as a tank, etc. Really solid..
Problem is in PVP. He doesn't work with the team, cc'ing targets etc, just does his own thing etc...this was once again most recently displayed during AoC BC with ExGS. That's not to be mean or a knock against the guy. Hell most of us would be ok with giving him a shot, if those who "vouch" for him are willing to work on his teamwork, and pvp so it does not continue here.

I have to agree with Solis on everything that he wrote. Val is a great guy and I would like to see him here, but in terms of PvP grouping, he does his own thing, and his mic is fucked up too.

Re: Membership Requirements?
I think another decently important thing to have is, make sure to not have people who will randomly run off instead of staying focused and helping the group PVE or PVP, other than that I will be happy.

Re: Membership Requirements?
yea i played with him he was a cool guy and is a pretty dam good tank for PvE, but i think that with some practice he will learn to group up and stay with us and help us. We just havent really practiced hardcore pvp as a group yet.

Shok is taking personal time off. Let him do that then rather than pushing him to do something that he doesnt have time for.
